    Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the SUPERVISION/MANAGEMENT Work Category at the SENIOR Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Global Field Command, RN34 at Hill AFB, UT. Responsibilities Reviews correspondence for compliance with agency correspondence directives. Provides administrative and management guidance to government information technology specialists. Provides management direction to contractor leads for the planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production. Develops performance elements and standards and evaluates subordinate supervisors and serves as the reviewing official on evaluations of non-supervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Heads various boards and committees, made up of senior members of DISA Global Field Command and other organizations, which require strong leadership and network management expertise. Continually studies the organizational structure, functions, and processes to determine areas where improvements can be made to ensure optimum mission accomplishment and to allow maximum utilization of resources. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements for series 2210: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GG-14: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND EXPERIENCE Qualifying Experience for GG-14: One year of qualifying experience at the next lower GG-grade level. Qualifying experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience providing Information Technology (IT) support, directing operational missions, processes and technology, used to operate and secure enterprise information network services and developing and delivering reports and briefings, setting priorities and assigning individual work. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-14 grade level. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education . Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. If you are a current Federal Career/Career-Conditional employee, you will be placed on an Excepted appointment. This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service. This position is subject to completion of 1-year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position. The nature of the position's duties and the organization's operational mission requires the incumbent to physically report to their duty station in certain situations where non-essential employees are excused, such as during national emergencies, extreme weather situations, mission critical systems outages, and/or other scenarios as deemed appropriate at the highest levels of the organization's chain of command. As part of the Mission Essential designation, the incumbent may be placed in a 24/7 standby or recall status and be required to carry a mobile phone or other similar device to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan. Under normal conditions, shift work or alternate schedule is not required. During time of crisis or to meet mission needs, shift work or alternate schedule may be needed.
