    The LLC is currently seeking a Program Operations Specialist who will be responsible for helping to manage language related curricular and associated resource development. Planning, conducting, and disseminating the results of research projects. Planning, coordinating and executing professional development events and one-on-one training for faculty on topics related to language curriculum development, applied linguistics and related topics. Supporting grant program applications and management. Given project goals, outline projects, and manage to completion.

Along with the administrative aspects, this position is expected to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including students, staff, faculty, community partners, and sponsoring organizations.

    This position requires excellent organization, communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.

     

    Serving more than 6,500 students annually, the Language Learning Center (LLC) provides interactive multimedia and computing resources to facilitate authentic language and cultural learning at the University of Washington. The center integrates technology into the language classroom and support every language program on campus through its digital audio, video, and software resources. Through the integration of this technology in the classroom, the LLC strives to make language learning more exciting, current, and relevant.

     

    **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Curriculum Development Projects

    + Coordinate with instructor partners to revise existing curricula

    + Develop new curriculum modules, including Open Educational Resources

    + Provide support in presenting curriculum content in a variety of formats, e.g., textbook format or online in a Learning Management Systems (LMS)Related Research Projects

    + Help design and execute research projects

    + Publish results in academic venues and in public scholarship formatsPedagogical Training, Workshops and Events

    + Design, advertise and promote events

    + Coordinate logistics prior to and day-of events

    + Produce and curate event recordings and materialsDiscrete Learning Resource Development

    + Work with faculty to create individual resources using LLC media production tools and facilitiesGrant Program Support

    + Support with searching and applying for grants

    + Project managementOther Duties as Assigned

    + Participate in unit, College, and campus wide meetings as appropriate

    + Other related duties as assigned **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    + Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, Language, Education, Psychology or any related field

    + Minimum work experience of one or less years in language teaching, curriculum development, language policy or a related field. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

    + Experience conducting novel research and publishing in academic venues or in public scholarship formats

    + Comfort and experience with technology

    + Proficient in more than one language and demonstrated multicultural competency

    + This individual must have excellent project management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as attention to detail; ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively with diverse audiences **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    + Experience working with marginalized peoples/languages/cultures in ways that are respectful and constructive, with recognition of past and present power imbalances, as well as legal/cultural factors

    + Has multilingual and/or multicultural competencies

    + An M.A. or Ph.D. in applied linguistics, education or a related field
