We are currently looking for an API Developer Team Lead - Recent Graduate for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This role will involve leading a team of interns and junior developers while contributing to the development of RESTful APIs using modern programming practices to support our specialized healthcare technology. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain leadership experience while advancing their technical skillset and learning about healthcare IT technologies.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead and mentor a team of interns and junior developers, providing technical guidance, coaching, and oversight on API development tasks.
+ Manage the team's workload, schedules, and deliverables under the guidance of VetsEZ's program development lead.
+ Design, code, test, and debug applications in various programming languages using modern development techniques.
+ Ensure code quality and consistency by conducting reviews and offering constructive feedback.
+ Learn and gain proficiency with development lifecycle tools such as Git, version control, JSON, API testing tools, and Jira.
+ Collaborate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to solution planning and progress reporting.
+ Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree or declared major in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
+ Experience leading or coordinating development tasks for a team of developers and testers.
+ Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, Python) and exposure to RESTful APIs or SQL (experience with all three preferred).
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
+ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
+ Ability to work within a multi-stakeholder, Agile, and DevSecOps environment.
+ Ability to obtain a Federal Government clearance.
Additional Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with Git and version control is a plus.
+ Exposure to JSON and API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.) is a plus.
+ Experience with Jira or similar project tracking tools is a plus.
