Spurwink's Finance department seeks an experienced Patient Accounts Specialist to follow up on denials and outstanding accounts receivable for the agency. Including outstanding Medicare, MaineCare and commercial insurance and miscellaneous billing accounts older than 60 days. The Patient Accounts Specialist will also follow up, correct and resubmit claims for all government and non-government denials in a timely manner and respond to any inquiries regarding complex billing issues.

DUTIES:

+ Follow up on outstanding balances greater than 30 days old for funders including, but not limited to, MaineCare, DOE and Public Schools.

+ Submit bills electronically to MaineCare using internal software

+ Generate and mail invoices to state and public fundors.

+ Achieve a 2 - 3 week turnaround time for payment receipt.

+ Effectively communicate with programs and payers to collect timely payments and respond to inquiries regarding bills.

+ Assist with A/R related matters for the year end audit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience required with t hree or more years preferred.
