JOB TITLE: Software Engineer

DUTIES: Provide hands-on coding and problem-solving in software development while working in a collaborative using the Agile methodology. Write and maintain clear, effective code for the various software programs. Create new features, resolve faults, and streamline current systems for both backend services and applications that interact with customers, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems and mobile applications. Ensure the code is stable and dependable. Write unit tests and take part in ensuring the code complies with best practices and the company's quality requirements. Understand the needs of new features or systems and ensure the software complies with the demands of the company. Collaborate closely with other engineers, understanding the requirements and business needs. Attend sprint planning meetings to discuss tasks for the next sprint and sprint retrospectives to evaluate areas of success and areas for improvement. Participate in design discussions with different teams to coordinate new approaches in implementation to align with the different team and ensure the code for the newly implemented flow is working as expected and offer technical ideas and brainstorming solutions. Work with APIs to connect the systems with outside services, such as performing input arbitration and calculating the best offer which could be applied to the customer’s basket or sending response to external systems. Write queries and optimize database queries to fetch the data for performance on NoSQL databases. Assist other teams in understanding the flow and resolving any issues they may face during any phase of testing. Use technologies like New Relic and AWS cloud watch log to track the performance of applications and requests after deployment and troubleshoot any problems that appear in the environment.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 2 years of experience in the following: software development, including coding, testing, and deploying; using AWS to manage code; using Agile methodology and participating in sprint planning meetings; and NodeJS, jQuery, Java, JavaScript, AWS, DocumentDB, MongoDB, New Relic, ReactJS, TypeScript, Postman, Jest unit testing, Fastify framework, relational databases and writing SQL queries. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
