Now Hiring: Supervisor of Cultural Ambassadors
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some flexibility needed
Novant Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor of Cultural Ambassadors with Spanish interpreter experience to lead and inspire our Cultural Ambassador team. Your number one responsibility will be to deliver the most remarkable patient experience—every dimension, every time—while supporting our health system’s vision and commitment to patients and families.
In this supervisory role, you will guide and support the Cultural Ambassador team, ensuring they provide exceptional service that fosters inclusion, understanding, and compassion for our diverse patient population. You will play a key role in creating an environment where differences are embraced and where empowerment, inspiration, and courage thrive.
What You’ll Bring:
+ 2 Years of Spanish Medical interpreter experience to enhance communication and support with our diverse patient community.
+ Leadership skills to supervise, mentor, and motivate the Cultural Ambassador team.

Responsibilities
+ Provide in-person medical interpreting for interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
+ Coordinate cultural and language services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
+ Implement and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Supervise and support Cultural Ambassador staff by:
+ Assigning tasks and responsibilities
+ Creating and managing shift schedules
+ Monitoring project progress and staff performance
+ Utilize technology and other tools to deliver language and sign language services across departments.
Qualifications
+ Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
+ Experience: Minimum two years experience in interpreting services, required.
+ Licensure/Certification: CMI or CHI certification with the first year of employment, required.
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ Ability to complete generic and department and Interpreter specific skills validation and competency testing.
+ Certificate from a formal Medical Interpreting training program recognized by Novant Health.
+ Must perform orientation duties to onboard new staff.
+ Role models professionalism by precepting and mentoring new staff.
+ Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
