    Job Description:

    As an MRI Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic MRI exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The MRI Technologist II will function as an expert/resource for the MRI department.

    Essential Functions

    + Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.

    + Exhibits leadership skills, acts as a mentor and role model, works with minimal supervision, and can provide direction to the team in the coordinator/manager’s absence.

    + Trains and mentors new staff and students. Acts as a lead tech when assigned.

    + Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.

    + Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.

    + Adheres to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.

    + Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.

    + Assists and instructs students and other MRI Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

    + Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.

    + Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.

    + Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.

    + Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.

    + Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

    **Shift Details** : 30 hours Per Week. Every other weekend shift included. Mid-day to Evening

    Minimum Qualifications

    + American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) **or** American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)

    + Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers

    + IV Certification within 30 days of hire

    + Proficiency in 3 of the following areas: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), intra-operative, cardiac, functional, breast, prostate, rectal cancer staging, advanced 3D spectroscopy, MR lymphangiography, or pediatric MRI (less than 15 years of age) as 80% of patient workload.

    + Must complete at least five cases per specialty procedure with documented skills pass off by a lead MRI technologist or coordinator.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Three years of experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

    Physical Requirements:

    Physical Requirements

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

    + Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

    + Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

    + Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

    + May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $42.66 - $65.82
