    Siena University is seeking a top frontline fundraiser in the role of Leadership Gift Officer to engage alumni, parents and friends as partners in supporting the mission of Siena University. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in university development and significant and growing success in securing major gift support for mission support, academic and student experience programs, for scholarship support and for capital programs. This administrator will be a self-driven professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging sophisticated potential donors and representing Siena with integrity and confidence. The preferred candidate will be a Siena alumnus/a who possesses these characteristics. Siena's Franciscan values are core to our mission and being able to represent them is critically important. The position reports to the Director of Major Gifts.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Manage an assigned portfolio of 60-100 major gift prospects; develop ongoing relationships with these prospects and donors throughout the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship process with the goal of soliciting and closing gifts of $100,000+

    + Travel to conduct 8 - 10 face-to-face meetings per month with those in assigned portfolio

    + The initial goal for the Leadership Gift Officer will be to secure $1,000,000 in new gifts and pledges within two years and to achieve that new business volume annually thereafter

    + Record all interactions and plans in the donor data base, ensuring a high level of accuracy and integrity

    + Utilize prospect research and other strategies to determine giving capacity and identify areas of philanthropic interest of assigned prospects

    + Build effective and substantive relationships with alumni, parents, friends, administration, faculty, coaches and other constituents to foster engagement, participation and support for Siena University

     

    Annual salary for this position: $81,870.00 - $95,000.00.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Five years of successful frontline fundraising experience, or a demonstrated comparably successful track record in a related career

    + Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and peers within the university leadership, as well as external partners and volunteers

    + Possess strong technical skills which include proficiency with Windows, the Microsoft Suite, Google and Banner or comparable constituent/donor database.

    + Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

    + Affinity with the overall mission of Siena College

    + Must have flexibility to work evenings and weekends

    + Travel is expected to be 35% of the year. Travel will be US domestic but not limited to a single territory

    + Candidates must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and must maintain such license throughout the tenure of employment.

    + A background screening will be required
