Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs Ultrasound procedures at a technical level which does not require direct supervision and assumes the responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

What you will do in this role:

+ Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribes safety standards

+ Selects proper technical protocols on an individual patient basis

+ Assesses risk for falls and implements appropriate safety precautions

+ Demonstrates knowledge of fluid needs

+ Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

+ Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.

+ Demonstrates knowledge of medications to be administered, including the medication’s effects, side effects and potential adverse reactions.

+ Maintains adequate records as directed.

+ Ability to assess, interpret age specific data, knowledge of growth and development, and to provide age specific care.

+ Understands the range of treatment needed by specific age group.

+ Positions and transfers patients.

+ Assists physician in administering contrast media and practices sterile techniques when necessary.

+ Is familiar with standards of care for ages specified.

What qualifications you will need:

+ 1+ years applicable experience required

+ (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

+ (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

+ Associate Degree

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
