    Job Summary and Qualifications

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    The New Imaging Procedural Coordinator plays a key role in the communication and coordination of all outpatient CT guided procedures for new and returning patients. They will serve as a liaison between Imaging Services, BMT Outpatient and Texas Oncology.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITES

    + First point of contact for new/returning patients and referring provider practices;

    + Schedules all patients for procedures, ensuring insurance coverage

    + Ensures health records are obtained for referral visit which includes clinical background, diagnostic history and valid procedural orders;

    + Manages calls from referring providers and patients, ensuring requests are addressed in a timely manner;

    + Contacts patients and coordinates appointment (date/time) and educates patient regarding expectations of each visit;

    + Maintains knowledge of the schedule, at least 3-5 days in advance, to ensure department readiness

    + Acknowledge, file and send emails via Outlook, ensuring an open line of communication between physicians, staff, management and patients.

    + Creates patient record with appropriate documentation prior to initial patient visit;

    + Responsible for ensuring care team receives new patient records to include valid orders and up to date histories prior to initial patient visit;

    + Collaborates visit with multidisciplinary care team to provide a well-coordinated patient visit;

    + Communicates with patient on key hospital information which includes, but is not limited to, facility location, parking, valet services, key contact numbers and anticipated length of visit. As appropriate, e-mails or mails new patient packet;

    + Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA privacy laws during interactions with provider practices, patients, and caregivers;

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Mandatory:

    + During your employment you will be routinely assigned training requirements. You are expected to complete any training assignments by the due date.

    + Adheres to the St. David’s Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    + High School diploma or GED equivalent;

    + Some post high-school training including medical terminology and knowledge of diagnostic testing

    Preferred:

    + Medical Assistant certification or 1-2 years unit secretary or equivalent experience
