    JOB SUMMARY

    The Senior Director- Finance Technology is a strategic role responsible for overseeing the functional design, solutioning, implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of Cloud ERP/EPM platforms and integrated ecosystem. This role acts as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring the Cloud ERP/EPM system effectively supports business operations and objectives. The Senior director requires a deep understanding of end-to-end process flows and cross functional impact. This role involves leading projects, providing functional expertise, and collaborating with global technology, business stakeholders and vendor partners to ensure scalable, efficient, and secure Cloud ERP and EPM solutions that align with business goals. This position requires a blend of finance knowledge and technical proficiency to ensure the efficient functioning of financial systems, data integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborating closely with finance leaders and IT professionals, you will drive innovation, streamline workflows, and leverage technology to enhance financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Experience

    Required Qualifications:

    • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Computer Science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification

    • 10+ years of experience as a solution architect implementing Cloud ERP and EPM systems, with a wide capability range.

    • 10+ years of experience leading large scale Cloud ERP/EPM implementations.

    • 10+ years working as a functional lead solutioning and configuring end-to-end business process cycles within Cloud ERP and EPM.

    • Expert business process knowledge in common ERP Cloud modules including but not limited to General Ledger, Cash Management, Projects, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management and related applications.

    • Experience with Oracle Cx and Oracle Accounting Hub.

    • Experience leading a team of technology product owners for various finance workstreams driving towards delivered Oracle Cloud capabilities.

    • Experience leading finance work streams from a technology solution lens and conducting workshops and testing events with business stakeholders.

    • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders on business process mapping, reengineering and enhancements.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the integration between Cloud ERP, EPM and dependent systems.

    • Experience with technology product ownership and delivery.

    • Prior experience working with finance and engineering to drive and implement technology solutions for end-to-end processes.

    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to finance and technology (e.g., GDPR, SOX, PCI-DSS).

    • Ability to review and manage usage, licensing, and costs with vendor platforms.

    • Ability to learn modern technologies and adopt new technologies to streamline and simplify processes, keep related systems in sync and maintain data parity across an integrated ecosystem.

    • Strong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and guiding diverse teams through strategic initiatives.

    • Production support experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Graduate degree

    • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.

    • Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM

    • Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle PaaS.

    • Experience with extended analytics capabilities designing and implementing visualization solutions like Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence, Power BI, Tableau and associated data warehouses.

    • Experience designing and architecting multi-cloud integrations.

    • Understanding of financial processes including cyclical events.

    • Experience in agile software methodologies and associated tooling.

    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future data platform opportunities.

    • Technology leadership experience in a sourced environment.

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

    Solution Architecture and Design

    • **Requirements Gathering and Analysis** : Leading the process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for Cloud ERP/EPM solutions, often involving workshops and stakeholder interviews.

    • **Solution Design and Configuration:** Designing and configuring Oracle Cloud ERP and EPM to align with business requirements, including personalizing configurations, creating functional specifications, and conducting gap analysis.

    • **Integration and Data Management** : Managing data conversion and integration strategies, ensuring seamless integration with other systems, and maintaining data integrity within Cloud ERP, EPM, Cx and other offerings.

    Implementation and Integration

    • Own the Finance technology stack helping drive strategy and roadmap for Cloud ERP, EPM and ancillary technology ecosystem.

    • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and set and manage expectations.

    • Define integration architecture using middleware solutions like Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).

    • Oversee data migration and transformation strategies during Cloud ERP implementation.

    • Oversee the implementation, customization, and integration of finance software solutions such as Cloud ERP, EPM systems, financial reporting tools, budgeting and forecasting software, and other relevant platforms.

    • Collaborate with developers and functional team members to implement custom extensions using PaaS architecture as needed.

    • Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage Marriott technology assets and design standards.

    • Lead functional design sessions; document functional solutions aligned with Marriott business objectives for Finance; identify gaps between current and desired end-states.

    • Own and drive technology solutioning for Finance and help ideate options that align with approved architecture patterns.

    • Establish and enforce data management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).

    • Manage extended stakeholder expectations liaising across teams to identify opportunities for system efficiencies and improvements.

    • Plan, architect, design and manage delivery of technology solutions with global technology teams and service providers.

    • Continuously evaluate and optimize finance processes, workflows, and system configurations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

    • Escalate and manage platform and delivery issues with technology vendors as needed.

    **Project Management:** Leading and managing Oracle ERP/EPM implementation and upgrade projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring project progress. Ability to plan, execute, and manage projects effectively, including risk management and stakeholder communication.

    **Testing and Quality Assurance:** Developing and executing test scripts, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensuring the quality and functionality of the Oracle ERP/EPM system.

    **Training and Support:** Providing training and support to end-users and developing training materials and documentation related to Cloud ERP/EPM systems.

    **Stakeholder Communication:** Effectively communicating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and other relevant parties to ensure alignment and successful implementation.

    **Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:** Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex functional and technical issues related to Cloud ERP/EPM systems. Identify opportunities to continuously improve performance and user experience with Cloud ERP and EPM

    **Staying Updated:** Keeping abreast of the latest Cloud ERP/EPM features, updates, and best practices to ensure the system remains optimized and aligned with business needs.

    **Security and Compliance:** Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices, including identify and access management (IAM) data encryption, and role-based access controls. Working with broader global technology and internal audit teams on technical implementation of system and IT general controls.

    Technical Leadership

    • Trains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate.

    • Provides oversight to direct reports and dotted line reports in the Finance technology space.

    • Provides technology leadership and oversight to finance domain tech solutions across organizational initiatives.

    • Provides financial input on department or project budgets, capital expenditures or other cost/resource estimates as requested.

    • Identifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.

    IT Governance

    • Follows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e., IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed.

    • Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk.

    • Follows the defined project management standards and processes.

    Service Provider, COTS, and Custom Application Management

    • Lead prioritization meetings with stakeholders and drive resolution of changes through the process for portfolio of supported applications

    • Coordinate and track the delivery of highly visible operational activities/problems.

    • Groom backlog of features and changes with stakeholders.

    • Validates that Service Providers and internal teams develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.

    • Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources.

    • Monitors Service Provider and internal team’s outcomes.

    • Reviews estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers and internal teams for accuracy.

    • Facilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients.

    • Functions as an applications expert for both senior leadership and project teams in effective utilization of existing technology in business technical applications, either enterprise-wise or business-wide.

    • Leads workgroup/project team or functions as a technical specialist.

    • Supports and develops systems in a minimum of one environment.

    • Develops and manages respective aspects of a project plan with minimal assistance, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.

    • Plans and coordinates complex integration(s) and implementation overseeing quality control of systems functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.

    • Coordinates with quality assurance, infrastructure services, vendor, and internal application delivery teams.

    • Provides consultation for routine and complex systems development.

    • Provides accurate estimates of work effort for client project.

    • Works as a functional SME for other team members.

    • Strong understanding of business processes, customers, and functions.

     

    The salary range for this position is $141,600 to $232,300 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.

     

    **Washington Applicants Only:** Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
