Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Plan Check Engineers to support an industry leading engineering solutions company. This individual will be supporting the company's Building and Safety Division to examine plans and specifications for building and structures for compliance with all code requirements for the following design elements: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, energy conservation regulations (Title 24), Green Building Standards, Accessibility and Egress. An ideal candidate will have experience reviewing plans with other public agencies and itemizing required corrections and modifications and explains them to permit applicants. Additional responsibilities will be submitting status reports to Building Officials, answering questions related to plans and permitting to the public jurisdictional building counters, and authorizing the issue of building permits for plans to meet code and ordinance requirements and supervising a team of plan examiners and plan check engineers. This individual will be supporting with general management of the plan check team to ensure engineers are delegated to specific projects, meeting deadlines and also assisting with customer facing meetings. This will be a hybrid position based in Anaheim, City of Industry or San Bernadino. Anaheim applicants will be required to have an Active P.E. License.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of Building Plan Checking/Examining experience in California on both residential and commercial structures

ICC Plans Examiner Certification (minimum Residential Plan Review Certificate)

Thorough knowledge of building codes and regulations

Experience checking most of the following design elements: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, energy conservation regulations (Title 24), Green Building Standards, Accessibility and Egress

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field Previous supervisor/managerial experience

Experience utilizing Bluebeam
