Sr. Commercial Lines Account Manager

Summary: The Sr. Commercial Lines Account Manager will provide a high level of sales support to the producer and customer service to clients. The position requires a significant degree of independent judgment and discretion to meet required service levels. The Sr. Commercial Lines Account Manager will assist in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with Agency and individual producer goals and provide field service in support of producer activities. They will be responsible for assisting clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. The Account Manager will work with the producer to design and recommend proper insurance and risk management programs to Agency clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Account Production
+ Services insurance policies.
+ Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals.
+ Orders and issues binders, certificates, policies, and endorsements while always verifying their accuracy.
+ Quotes renewals, re-markets policies, and processes payments.
+ Assists and coordinates applications process with Account Executive.
+ Submits and markets application to the appropriate and eligible carriers with appetite.
+ Requests Loss Runs from carriers, and reviews Audits of policies.
Client Assistance and Account Maintenance
+ Documents and updates customer records based on interactions, inputting into AMS.
+ Works directly with clients and producers, specifically in analyzing clients’ needs coverage forms and quotations, provides necessary documents, checklists, or proposals.
+ Assists clients in submitting and following up on claims to Carrier.
+ Responds to inquiries from clients, solves problems, and follows issues through to resolution.
+ Processes and follows up on cancellation request to carriers.
+ Fosters strong relationships with current and prospective clients, our company partners, and agency teammates.
+ Conducts self in a professional manner in all communications, including via email, phone, and interpersonal.
+ Maintains records according to Agency standards, ensuring that procedures are properly followed, and that information is properly documented and readily accessible.
Underwriter and Marketer Communication
+ Communicates with carrier underwriters and marketers reviewing appetites and needs.
+ Builds expertise in utilizing comparative rater tools.
Other Responsibilities
+ Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned.
+ Trains and guides more junior team members as needed.
Job Requirements:
Required
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or an insurance related discipline;
+ 7+ years’ experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager;
+ Experience leading Commercial Insurance marketing efforts;
+ Key relationships with Commercial Carrier Underwriters;
+ Experience managing a $5 MM book of small to midsize commercial accounts;
+ Detailed knowledge of products, structures, and systems necessary to resolve policy holder inquiries and problems;
+ Thorough understanding of the new business marketing functions, as well as in-force policy service functions to provide quality and accurate service to customers;
+ Strong grasp of commercial insurance policies, underwriting guidelines, and risk management principles;
+ Proficiency in various commercial lines (i.e., product knowledge);
+ Experience with industry specific software (Applied Epic);
+ Ability to build and maintain strong trusting relationships with underwriters;
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
+ Ability to make decisions and troubleshoot issues independently;
+ Computer and technical proficiency;
+ Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Preferred
+ Insurance Certifications including Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI);
+ Supervisory or leadership experience;
+ Experience working with Applied Epic and PL Rating preferred.

Schedule:
This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule; 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home based on business need.
