    Project Manager & Analytics Specialist III (Promotional)

     

    The PMAS III must be able to identify and address the process and project improvement opportunities in the department and must further possess a detailed understanding of project management, project development, project implementation and project resolution.

     

    Examples of Duties

     

    + Works with databases and smartsheets to compile and analyze data critical to the operation of the City’s law department.

    + Provides leadership on projects that assist the workflow in the law department.

    + Manage the Demolition Cost Recovery process, from demand letters and invoicing up to the time the lawsuits are filed.

    + Create and maintain DocuSign process for Remote Online Notarization of Easements and other documents and communicating with various city departments including the Mayor’s office, Planning and Development, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, and the Department of Transportation.

    + Manage City’s Representation and Indemnification process: Create, edit and maintain the Legal Representation Process Smartsheet, Prepare and send all correspondence and email communications, Create and prepare City Council Resolutions for submission, handle all communication among the Law Department, Union Representatives and Union attorneys.

    + Develop and implement process for project to implement municipal civil infractions in the city of Detroit.

    + Design and implement electronic application process for the city of Detroit boards and commissions.

    + Manage transition and maintain certification of attorneys for Detroit Indigent Defense Services from contracting and payment at the 36th District Court to the city of Detroit as required by the MIDC.

    + Develop and implement initiatives to improve work processes.

    + Manage project development and execution from inception to closure.

    + Assists with the implementation of Law Department goals, initiatives, and plans.

    Minimum Qualifications

    These minimum qualifications establish the education, training, experience, special skills, and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. Minimum qualifications increase based on the level of position.

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor’s degree with a major in human resources, data analytics, project management business management, organizational development, labor relations, or equivalent experience.

    Additional points may be awarded for:

    + Veteran Points: 0 – 15 points

    RETIREMENT BENEFITS

    City Employees Retirement System

    As a regular City employee you automatically become a member of the General Retirement System. This entitles you to a retirement allowance after:

     

    • Completion of thirty (30) years of service;

     

    - At age sixty (60) if you have at least ten (10) years of service, or

     

    - At age sixty-five (65) with eight (8) years of service.

     

    • In the event of disability, other eligibility rules apply);

     

    - An early, actuarially reduced, retirement is offered after you have attained at least twenty-five (25) years of service;

     

    • Employees are vested after ten (10) years of service, regardless of age.
