As the **Sr. C** **ustomer Development Manager, Strategic Grocery - hello & Tom's of Maine** , you will have direct joint responsibility to deliver net sales, volume, spend/investment and retail execution objectives. You will be formulating and executing a strategic plan to ensure Strategic Grocery customers reach maximum volume, profitability and customer service. You'll work with different team leaders and customer CDMs to develop plans to deliver designated account strategies and champion a demeanor with your colleagues to build solutions where everyone wins and efficiency of investments increase. You will demonstrate consumer insights associated with strong Colgate brand equities to drive incremental growth.
_**This is a hybrid role, with location options aligned to either our New York, NY or Rosemont, IL office. Candidates not located and/or relocatable to one of these areas will not be considered.**_
What you will do
+ Identify areas of category opportunity, develop strong customer plans that incorporate category and shopper insights, and have an awareness of competitor activity to build customer strategy.
+ Establish partnerships with multiple parties including internal cross-functional teams such as supply chain, finance and the Tom’s & hello Commercial team. Timely and transparent communication of trends, risks and opportunities is critical.
+ Influence internal and external partners through collaboration, negotiation and thought leadership.
+ Seek creative solutions to adjust on strategy with the customer, revisit objectives and gain insights from pre and post evaluation and return on investment analyses to ultimately incorporate learning into the strategic direction.
+ Understand business trends in each account through fact-based and development. Understand the efficiency of different investment levers and be curious about what works and what does not to refine customer tactics.
+ Develop and execute comprehensive customer strategies rooted in consumer insights, category trends, and competitive analysis to deliver mutual growth opportunities
+ Build and nurture partnerships across cross-functional teams, and broker retail teams—fostering a culture of trust and integrity
+ Coach and develop team members, providing leadership and guidance to enhance team performance and career growth. The ability to work with a remote team and remote customer counterparts is critical.
+ Continuously seek out and implement process improvements, using analysis such as ROI measurement, pre- and post-program evaluations, and lessons learned to optimize future strategies
+ Champion Tom's & hello brands with cross-functional teams and customers, leveraging brand narratives, data and insights to drive engagement, and unlock growth.
+ Lead the team to analyze and report on account-specific business trends, including brand performance, pricing, promotion activity, and trade developments
+ Apply insights to refine investment strategies and customer tactics, leveraging data from syndicated and internal sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI)
Required qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 8+ years in sales roles or adjacent experiences
+ Previous people management/relationship management experience
Preferred qualifications
+ Experience with syndicated services such as Nielsen, IRI, Numerator
+ Experience with shopper loyalty data services such as dunnhumby, SymphonyEYC
+ Experience working in consumer product goods companies
+ Microsoft Office or Google Suite proficiency (i.e., Sheets, Slides, Docs)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $120,000.00 - $168,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
