Description

Robert Half is partnering with a nationally recognized organization to identify an Accounting Specialist to join the team on a contract to hire basis! The AP/AR Specialist is a dual-function role responsible for managing both outgoing payments and incoming receivables with accuracy and efficiency. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization by ensuring timely vendor payments, accurate billing, and effective collections processes. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, previous ERP system experience and 2+ years accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Duties:

+ Process invoices for payment, including coding, matching, and verifying for accuracy and approvals.

+ Maintain vendor files and resolve discrepancies or payment issues in a timely manner.

+ Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.

+ Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payment of obligations in accordance with company policy.

+ Assist with month-end close by reconciling AP subledger to the general ledger.

Accounts Receivable Duties:

+ Generate and distribute customer invoices and statements accurately and timely.

+ Post customer payments via checks, ACH, credit card, and other methods.

+ Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.

+ Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate collection efforts professionally.

+ Maintain accurate records of all AR transactions and communications.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in AP/AR or general accounting roles.

Experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle, Workday, D365 or similar ERP).

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to internal controls.
