Description

Summary:

Seeking an experienced attorney to represent low-income clients facing eviction in Bronx Housing Court and at NYCHA termination hearings. The ideal candidate will provide culturally sensitive legal services and manage a full caseload.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Represent tenants in non-payment and holdover proceedings

+ Appear in Bronx Housing Court and administrative hearings

+ Draft motions, legal documents, and orders to show cause

+ Conduct community outreach and legal workshops

+ Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality

+ Collaborate with internal teams and support staff

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

+ Admitted to the NYS Bar

+ 3–5+ years of legal experience (trial and litigation preferred)

+ Familiarity with NYC housing law and public benefits

+ Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

+ Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills

+ Experience with low-income or vulnerable populations

+ Spanish fluency preferred
