Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join our team in Waterville, Maine. In this role, you will oversee the financial management of grants, ensuring compliance with reporting standards and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting and a passion for financial accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, including daily, monthly, annual, and periodic grant statements.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, audits, tax returns, and other financial reporting as needed.
• Monitor grant expenditures to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with team members to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
• Support the implementation and management of cost accounting practices to improve financial processes.
• Ensure that all financial records are maintained in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Act as a point of contact for grant-related financial inquiries and provide necessary documentation during audits. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.
• Proven experience in grant accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
