Description
We are looking for an experienced Workday HCM/Payroll Consultant. This is a long-term contract position within the government sector, offering an opportunity to lead critical Workday integration efforts and ensure seamless system functionality. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Workday modules, payroll processes, and testing methodologies to support the City's operational needs.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee end-to-end testing scenarios for Workday modules, ensuring smooth integration with payroll systems.
• Provide hands-on configuration support for Workday modules, including Payroll and Time Tracking.
• Validate parallel payroll testing results, comparing data outputs from Workday and legacy systems.
• Support the transition from semi-monthly to bi-weekly payroll schedules, addressing configuration and process impacts.
• Serve as the Workday security administrator, managing role assignments and access validations.
• Troubleshoot configuration, data, and security issues during testing cycles, documenting and resolving bugs.
• Develop comprehensive job aids, test documentation, and user guides to facilitate training and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate on integrations with external systems, such as CalPERS and benefit providers, ensuring compliance with municipal requirements.
Requirements • At least 5 years of experience with Workday modules, particularly Payroll and HCM.
• Hands-on experience in Workday configuration and testing, including parallel payroll validation.
• Strong background in Workday security administration and role-based access setup.
• Familiarity with transitioning payroll frequencies, such as semi-monthly to bi-weekly schedules.
• Knowledge of public sector HR and payroll operations; California-specific experience is preferred.
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex system issues.
• Excellent documentation and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
