Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Interim Accountant for a short-term engagement supporting a dynamic accounting team within a manufacturing and distribution company. This is a highly transactional role focused on daily cash reconciliation, accounts receivable processing, credit memos, and expense entry across multiple business units. The ideal candidate is experienced with Microsoft D365, thrives in a fast-paced environment and can quickly adapt to existing processes to ensure seamless continuity during a team absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Cash Management & Reconciliation
+ Upload and post daily cash batches into D365
+ Reconcile cash activity and resolve discrepancies across entities
Accounts Receivable (High Volume)
+ Apply payments and manage unapplied cash
+ Assist with customer balance reviews and adjustments
+ Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues
Credit Memo Processing
+ Enter and validate credit memos, including those with inventory/costing impacts
+ Ensure accurate postings and documentation in D365
+ Provide light support to credit management team as needed
Expense Entry
+ Enter and code expenses for a travel-related division
+ Validate GL allocations and maintain audit trail
Requirements
Tools & Skills Required:
+ Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 Finance & Operations) or similar system
+ Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Ability to adapt quickly and work independently
Team Environment:
You’ll be working alongside a small, collaborative accounting team that includes senior accountants, managers and AP/AR support. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can hit the ground running and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
