Description
Web Design Agency in Redwood City is looking for a meticulous and organized Accounting Clerk to join their busy finance department. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are highly detail-oriented, enjoy working with numbers, and are looking to gain valuable experience in a professional accounting environment.
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be a vital support to the finance team, handling a variety of administrative and clerical accounting tasks that ensure our financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
Responsibilities:
+ Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
+ Assist with processing invoices for Accounts Payable (AP) and preparing outgoing payments.
+ Help with processing incoming payments and maintaining Accounts Receivable (AR) records.
+ Perform basic reconciliations of financial data, such as bank statements and vendor invoices.
+ Organize and maintain both physical and digital financial files, ensuring proper documentation and easy retrieval.
+ Prepare and verify various accounting forms and reports as needed.
+ Assist with data entry for payroll processing.
+ Communicate with vendors or clients regarding routine inquiries, under supervision.
+ Support the accounting team with administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and photocopying.
+ Identify and report any discrepancies or issues to the senior accounting staff.
+ Follow established accounting procedures and company policies.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus.
+ 0-1 year of experience in an office environment or with basic data entry (previous accounting-related experience or coursework is a strong advantage).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (basic data entry, simple formulas) and Word.
+ Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) is a plus, but not required – we can train!
+ Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
+ Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic.
+ Good basic math skills.
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
