Description
Robert Half's client in bagel business is looking for a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to join their team in San Mateo.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accurate. You will play a vital role in supporting financial operations and providing reliable financial data.
Responsibilities:
+ Record and categorize all financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, and payroll, into the appropriate accounting software.
+ Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including invoicing clients, processing vendor bills, and tracking payments.
+ Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
+ Prepare and process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and ensuring timely payments.
+ Maintain accurate and organized financial files and records, both physical and digital.
+ Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, for management review.
+ Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management activities.
+ Process expense reports and petty cash reconciliations.
+ Assist with tax preparation by providing necessary financial data to accountants.
+ Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal teams regarding financial matters.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
+ Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
+ Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
+ Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, FreshBooks).
+ Strong command of Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.
+ Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
+ Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration is a plus.
