Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant for a client in Redmond, Washington. This is a Contract to permanent position, ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is skilled in managing both complex and routine accounting tasks. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to payroll processing, general ledger management, and financial operations for a growing organization.
Responsibilities:
• Process payroll across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards and deadlines.
• Manage sales commission calculations and processing, including navigating complex commission structures.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including cash reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, and 1099 filings.
• Conduct 401(k) audits to ensure proper compliance and reporting.
• Perform month-end close procedures and maintain accurate financial records.
• Handle journal entries and account reconciliations with precision and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with the sales team to address inquiries and resolve accounting-related matters effectively.
• Utilize Great Plains Accounting software for various financial processes and reporting.
• Prepare for potential system transitions by maintaining adaptability and a willingness to learn new tools.
• Support and execute bank reconciliation tasks to ensure financial accuracy.
Requirements • Proven expertise in payroll processing, including multi-state payroll for mid-sized organizations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and address complex discussions.
• Ability to manage both high-level accounting tasks and routine operational duties.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with Great Plains Accounting software and ADP payroll systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling month-end close procedures and bank reconciliations.
• Knowledge of 401(k) audits and compliance requirements.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to organizational growth.
