Description
Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Logistics Clerk to join our team in Georgetown, Kentucky. In this role, you will act as a key liaison between drivers and the organization, ensuring smooth operations and accurate compliance with routing and customs procedures. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate daily cross-border and domestic routes, ensuring drivers have the necessary documentation and resources to complete their assignments.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, addressing issues related to routing design, trailer readiness, and paperwork accuracy.
• Manage customs documentation with precision, adhering to compliance standards to avoid fines or delays.
• Act as a liaison between drivers and Toyota, resolving operational challenges and facilitating clear communication.
• Provide courteous and detail-oriented customer service to drivers, balancing empathy with firm decision-making.
• Monitor shipment flows between the organization and the Toyota plant, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• Adapt to new security procedures and volume increases associated with cross-border shipments.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools for tracking, reporting, and dispatching logistics activities.
• Collaborate with team members to handle unexpected circumstances, such as weather-related delays or paperwork discrepancies.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of logistics coordination.
Requirements • Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including customs paperwork.
• Ability to manage multiple routes and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance.
• Knowledge of freight carriers and cross-border logistics is preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus, especially for handling international shipments. TalentMatch®
