Description

We are currently working with a growing nonprofit in Toledo that is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join our team and oversee accounting operations in a collaborative and high-impact environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining efficient financial processes, supervising staff, administering NetSuite ERP, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Supervise the Accounts Payable and Travel & Training functions to ensure timely and accurate expense processing.

+ Serve as the NetSuite Administrator, managing user roles, workflows, and system troubleshooting.

+ Provide accounting guidance and training to finance personnel while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

+ Develop and enhance accounting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

+ Oversee key activities in the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

+ Coordinate documentation preparation for annual financial audits.

+ Monitor financial reports, such as accounts receivable/payable aging, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.

+ Collaborate with the Director of Finance on budgeting, financial planning, and reporting initiatives.

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal/state accounting laws, and organizational policies.

+ Participate in cross-functional projects, including system integrations and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or equivalent preferred).

+ Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.

+ Proficient knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and nonprofit financial compliance.

+ Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite expertise strongly preferred.

+ Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
