    Event planning agency in San Mateo is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join their finance team.     As an AR Specialist, you'll be crucial in managing our customer accounts, processing payments, and maintaining strong client relationships. Your work will directly contribute to the company's financial health and operational efficiency.

    What You'll Do:

    + Invoice Generation & Distribution: Prepare and distribute accurate invoices to customers in a timely manner.

    + Payment Processing: Accurately apply incoming customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) to corresponding invoices in the accounting system.

    + Collections: Proactively manage accounts receivable aging reports, follow up on overdue accounts via phone and email, and resolve payment discrepancies.

    + Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of AR accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.

    + Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account status in a professional and helpful manner.

    + Reporting: Prepare various AR-related reports, including aging analysis, collection forecasts, and other ad-hoc reports as needed.

    + Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date customer files and payment records.

    + Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and contribute to enhancing efficiency.

    + Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting procedures related to accounts receivable.

    Requirements

    What We're Looking For:

    + Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

    + 1-3 years of proven experience in an Accounts Receivable role.

    + Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and AR best practices.

    + Proficiency in NetSuite or SAP

    + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting, filtering).

    + Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

    + Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly for customer interactions.

    + Problem-solving abilities to research and resolve billing and payment issues.

    + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
