Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Monterey, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic construction industry environment. The role focuses on client billing, reconciliation tasks, and supporting accounting functions while working closely with various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate monthly client billings using Excel, ensuring compliance with contract specifications.

• Collaborate with project managers to confirm billing details and resolve discrepancies.

• Reconcile financial statements to identify and address inconsistencies.

• Perform data entry and research tasks to support Accounts Payable operations.

• Utilize Excel formulas, including pivot tables and vlookups, to streamline financial processes.

• Maintain organized records and ensure all billed charges are supported by proper documentation.

• Communicate effectively with multiple departments to address project-related queries.

• Propose ideas for improving existing processes and contribute to team brainstorming sessions.

• Assist with coding invoices and managing accounts receivable tasks as needed.

• Uphold a dependable and proactive approach in a collaborative office environment. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles.

• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.

• Familiarity with accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

• Basic knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial tasks.

• Ability to communicate confidently and directly with project managers and team members.

• Demonstrated reliability and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

• Initiative to suggest solutions and improvements to current processes.
