Description
Are you a detail-oriented billing detail oriented with a passion for accuracy and efficiency? We’re seeking an experienced Medical Billing Clerk to join our team in Syracuse, NY. In this contract-to-permanent placement role, you’ll be a key player in managing billing operations for Home Health Care services, ensuring timely and accurate claims processing and payment reconciliation.
• What You’ll Do: Review and verify Home Health Care claims for accuracy and completeness. Submit claims and invoices to payors/clients according to billing schedules. Follow up on outstanding claims to maximize revenue collection. Investigate and appeal denied or unpaid claims to ensure full reimbursement. Accurately post payments within required timeframes. Use electronic billing systems (e.g., Waystar) to manage claims and resolve exceptions. Communicate billing issues and discrepancies to the Billing Manager. Leverage internal IT systems to streamline workflows and meet performance goals. Stay current with industry standards through meetings and training. Ensure compliance with all payor filing requirements.
• What You Bring: Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in Home Health Care. Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and electronic claims systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with Waystar or similar billing platforms is a plus.
Requirements 🎯 What We’re Looking For: 2+ years of experience in medical billing within the healthcare industry; prior experience in Home Care billing is highly preferred. Solid understanding of agency policies and compliance standards. Tech-savvy, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with healthcare billing software. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve billing issues efficiently and independently. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail. Physically able to perform job duties, including extended computer use and occasional lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
