Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage corporate accounting functions for a dynamic organization in New York, New York. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach to support financial reporting, reconciliation, and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee corporate accounting processes, including accrual entries, account analysis, and reconciliation of profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Ensure compliance with company-wide accounting policies and procedures, enforcing standards across departments.
• Analyze financial data and effectively communicate results to stakeholders.
• Manage trial balance and profit and loss reporting to maintain financial accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance reports to monitor performance.
• Collaborate with leadership, including the VP, Controller, and Senior Director of Corporate Accounting, to provide support and insights.
• Process and code invoices in alignment with organizational standards.
• Produce ad hoc reports and analyses, addressing specific business needs or projects.
• Contribute to system-related tasks and improvements using Workday. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating attention to detail.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and account reconciliation.
• Expertise in preparing and posting journal entries accurately.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Workday.
• Exceptional analytical and communication skills to present financial insights.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
