Robert Half's law firm client is actively seeking a meticulous and highly organized Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our finance team in Burlingame. As an AP Specialist, you'll be a critical part of financial operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, including matching purchase orders, verifying receipts, and obtaining proper approvals.

+ Enter and code invoices into our accounting system (SAP) with precision.

+ Prepare and process electronic transfers and check payments in a timely manner.

+ Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly through effective communication.

+ Communicate proactively with vendors to address inquiries, clarify billing issues, and maintain positive relationships.

+ Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.

+ Maintain accurate and organized vendor files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date for audit readiness.

+ Ensure strict compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

+ Support audit requests by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounts payable function.

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to resolve invoice-related issues.

+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the finance department's objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

+ 1-3 years of proven experience in a dedicated Accounts Payable role.

+ Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and AP best practices.

+ Proficiency in SAP.

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas).

+ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research and resolve discrepancies effectively.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced setting.
