This role is critical to ensuring accurate billing and coding with a focus on compliance standards and optimizing revenue cycles. Key Responsibilities:
+ Accurately process medical billing activities, including invoice preparation, claims submission, and payment posting.
+ Utilize ICD-10 codes for precise diagnostics and procedure coding while maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements.
+ Handle insurance claims, including verifications, denials, and appeals with a strong focus on ensuring timely reimbursements.
+ Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies through detailed account research and follow-up with insurance companies and patients.
+ Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other billing software.
+ Collaborate with team members and healthcare providers to streamline billing operations and improve overall efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Proven experience as a medical billing specialist with a strong command of ICD-10 coding.
+ Knowledge of insurance claims processes, including denials, appeals, and reimbursements.
+ Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other billing technologies (e.g., Cerner, Epic, or similar systems preferred).
+ Strong attention to detail when processing billing information and resolving discrepancies.
+ Exceptional communication and organizational skills in a healthcare environment.
+ Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus.
