Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Lompoc, California. In this role, you will play a key part in managing billing processes, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring seamless administrative support. This position requires precision, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support with registration tasks, including managing the reception area and switchboard operations.

• Verify insurance details and secure necessary authorizations for patient claims.

• Identify situations requiring escalation and coordinate with other departments or the Director to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

• Handle claims processing and resolve any discrepancies with accuracy and efficiency.

• Collaborate with team members on accounts receivable and benefit functions to maintain accurate records.

• Perform billing-related tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

• Utilize Allscripts software for effective management of billing and administrative functions.

• Respond promptly to inquiries and provide exceptional service to patients and staff.

• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive patient and financial information. Requirements • At least 1 year of experience in medical billing or a related field.

• Proficiency in Allscripts software and other relevant billing tools.

• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and benefit administration processes.

• Familiarity with insurance verification and claims management procedures.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers.

• Capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
