Job Summary

Join a dynamic Tax Engagement Support Services (TESS) team and play a key role in supporting tax professionals and ensuring the efficient delivery of services. As a TESS Specialist, you will utilize your strong attention to detail, communication skills, and technical aptitude to assist with the preparation, assembly, and processing of tax returns and related documentation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn new tools and processes, and is committed to supporting a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assemble and print tax return packages using internal software and workflow tools, ensuring all deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.

+ Coordinate tax engagement activities including new client setup, tax organizer creation, workpaper scanning (if applicable), delivery tracking, due date management, and workflow reporting.

+ Prepare client-facing documents such as engagement letters, statements of work, and other supporting materials.

+ Manage the electronic filing (e-file) process: monitor, release, and track tax returns to taxing authorities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions; resolve transmission errors and rejections.

+ Perform additional administrative and support tasks as assigned to enhance process efficiency and team effectiveness.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

+ High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

+ 0–3 years of relevant experience

+ Experience in an accounting or tax support role is a plus

Technical Skills:

+ Quick to learn and utilize various tax software and workflow tools

+ Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

+ Strong problem-solving skills in a deadline-driven environment

+ Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)

Key Competencies:

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Self-motivated and able to work independently

+ Well-organized with excellent time management abilities

+ Comfortable managing multiple tasks under pressure

+ Willingness to work overtime during peak tax filing periods

QPreferred Qualifications

+ Experience in a tax processing or similar administrative environment

+ Understanding of tax deadlines and e-filing procedures

+ Familiarity with document management systems
