Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in North Houston, Texas. This position requires expertise in full-cycle accounts payable processes, particularly focusing on utility billing and invoice management. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including handling both purchase order (PO) and non-PO invoices.

• Manage and accurately process utility invoices, such as electricity, water, gas, and waste management.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices in a timely manner.

• Ensure proper coding of utility bills and other expenses to the correct general ledger accounts.

• Reconcile utility accounts and address any variances or vendor-related issues.

• Maintain compliance with payment deadlines and regulatory standards for utility billing.

• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address payment inquiries and discrepancies.

• Monitor and organize the accounts payable inbox to ensure timely responses and processing.

• Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes for greater efficiency.

Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, with a focus on handling utility billing.

• Strong ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices and purchase orders.

• Proficiency in coding invoices and allocating expenses to general ledger accounts.

• Familiarity with managing vendor relationships and maintaining effective communication.

• Knowledge of purchase order processes and non-PO invoice workflows.

• Excellent organizational skills to manage high volumes of invoices and inbox correspondence.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

• Ability to work on-site from 8 AM to 5 PM.
