Description We are looking for an experienced Public Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Saint Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, including accounting, bill payments, and financial record management, while providing support to Financial and Property/Facility Managers. This position requires a high level of independence, strong managerial skills, and expertise in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation and review of invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with accounting standards before submission to property management.

• Maintain detailed financial transaction records, verifying and overseeing data entry into journals and accounting systems.

• Oversee the preparation and approval process for expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established policies.

• Compile and analyze financial reports, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and accounts payable and receivable summaries.

• Supervise and provide guidance to Accounting Coordinators and Accountants, fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including billing, cash receipts, and vendor management.

• Ensure the accuracy and organization of financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation.

• Act as an internal consultant on financial, accounting, and tax matters, offering expertise and strategic insights.

• Monitor and support budgeting processes, including expense tracking and variance analysis. Requirements • Proficiency in month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and maintenance.

• Experience with journal entry preparation and reconciliation.

• Expertise in account reconciliation, ensuring accuracy across financial statements.

• Skilled in performing bank reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.

• Proven ability to supervise and lead accounting teams effectively.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
