Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations and guide our accounting team in achieving excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep knowledge of GAAP, and a commitment to driving process improvements. This role requires a proactive and collaborative professional who can effectively partner with leadership to deliver accurate financial insights and assist in strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Supervise and mentor the accounting team, overseeing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger functions. Foster a culture focused on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous professional development.
+ Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, ensuring the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
+ Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
+ Collaborate with senior leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analyses.
+ Coordinate and complete the annual bank audit process by working closely with external auditors in a timely manner.
+ Manage cash flow, maintain banking relationships, and assess financial risks to support company operations.
+ Oversee the annual CPA audit and ensure timely submission of tax filings by coordinating with external auditors.
+ Drive continuous improvement by implementing new systems and optimizing existing financial processes for operational efficiency.
+ Prepare management reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform strategic decision-making.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, safeguarding the company's operations and reputation.
+ Oversee corporate risk mitigation efforts, including insurance renewals, reporting, audit requirements, and ensuring customer insurance compliance needs are met.
+ Maintain compliance with sales tax, exercise tax, and any other tax-related requirements arising from nexus obligations across all entities.
+ Support due diligence on mergers, acquisitions, or expansion initiatives, ensuring smooth integration of financial systems and processes.
