    SummaryOur Brand & Creative Studio is looking for a Senior Art Director. Reporting to the Executive Director, Brand and Creative, you will be a key player in our Creative Studio team responsible leading a team of multi-disciplinary designers translating our brand strategy into beautiful consistent design systems that flex across of integrated campaigns, recruitment, signature events and everything in between.

     

    We’re looking for a creative collaborator who thrives at the intersection of creativity and strategy. You bring a deep understanding of the creative process, and a passion for refining it. You know how to unlock ideas, streamline execution, and elevate outcomes. In this role, you’ll partner with a high-performing team across PR, digital marketing, video production, events, and creative services to shape compelling brand experiences that drive Mizuho’s business forward.

     

    This role is hybrid: 3 days in-office

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designer (brand, motion, video, digital), providing clear feedback, weekly critiques, and career-growth guidance.

    + Mentor a multidisciplinary team of creative professionals, fostering collaboration, creativity, and excellence, encourage team members to innovate and explore new ideas.

    + Audit existing guidelines and build a scalable, future-proof system for color, type, iconography, data-viz, and motion that works across print, digital, and experiential channels.

    + Maintain accessible guidelines, run training sessions, and deliver constructive feedback to keep every asset on brand.

    + Collaborate with creative leadership to translate business goals and market insights into creative ideas, then guide hands-on execution that meets quality, regulatory, and brand standards.

    + Craft and present persuasive creative proposals, secure alignment, and iterate quickly based on feedback from stakeholders and cross-disciplinary teams.

    + Monitor industry trends and emerging tech to keep Mizuho Americas’ creative output fresh and competitive.

    + Partner with Digital, Events, and Marketing Ops to deploy assets consistently in Webflow, social, Microsoft Office, live events, and more.

     

    Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing relevant work that demonstrates their expertise and creative approach.

    Qualifications:

    + 8+ years of experience in visual, experiential, or communication design, including 3+ years in creative leadership; financial-services exposure is a plus.

    + Portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in brand systems, multi-channel campaigns, and team leadership.

    + Expertise in leading creative projects from cross-functional teams, from concept through execution across various mediums (web, print, interactive, etc.) while also working autonomously when needed.

    + Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder-management skills; able to articulate design rationale to both creative and non-creative audiences.

    + Organized, detail-oriented, and adept at juggling multiple deadlines; resilient and optimistic in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.

    + Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud and working knowledge of motion (After Effects); comfortable guiding projects from concept to launch across web, print, interactive, and experiential media

    + Optimism and resilience to ambiguous or complex challenges, helping teams stay motivated, collaborative, and solution oriented.

     

    The expected base salary ranges from $136,000.00 - $160,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including but not limited to Medical, Dental and 401k that begin on day one of employment, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
