    Position Description:

    With approximately 70,000 miles of natural gas pipelines, we own an interest in or operate the largest natural gas network in North America. Our pipelines serve major consuming domestic markets and transport approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the United States. Our pipelines are also connected to every important natural gas resource play and supply area in the United States, including the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, Utica, Uinta Permian, Haynesville, Fayetteville and Barnett.

     

    Primary responsibility is to be responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations. This is an entry level position to perform the job duties of a gas controller on any of the following systems: KMTP, Tejas, Copano or Kinder Hawk. The job location is Houston and the hours are 12 hour shifts. The controller will be responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations. Draft and distribute emergency response communiqués utilizing KM’s emergency response systems. Ensure smooth transition of shift turnovers through verbal and written communication. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

    + Occasional but infrequent travel away from the assigned work location may be required

    + The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check

    PREFERRED Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

    + Familiarity with Kinder Morgan natural gas pipeline systems and operations highly desirable

    + Experience in the natural gas industry in the area of gas control, gas scheduling, and/or field operations is a plus

    + Experience working in a 24x7x365 work environment is advantageous

    + Associate level degree in any discipline is preferred but not required.
