_This is a hybrid position in Jersey City, New Jersey._** **_This role requires to be on location in our Jersey City office one to two days per week or more often as needed._

Advance Local is looking for a **Project Manager** to lead complex, cross-functional projects that drive business value across Advance Local’s digital media brands. The role will manage the full project life cycle including concept discovery, requirements definition, functionality specification, execution planning and management, and implementation oversight. A history of delivering complex projects for a high-traffic, ads-supported content publishing company or the equivalent is essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and diplomatic, with excellent communication skills.

The base salary range is $111,100 to $125,000 per year.

What you’ll be doing:

Project Management

+ Plan, track, and oversee all project phases, from initiation to closing

+ Develop and maintain project plans and schedules, ensuring timely delivery

+ Ensure project efforts align with business goals, focusing on delivering value against metrics

+ Set expectations for deliverables and schedules and motivate staff to meet key milestones

+ Monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks to scope or timelines

+ Manage project rollouts, coordinate testing, and troubleshoot issues

+ Adapt plans to respond to new information or evolving circumstances

Leadership & Collaboration

+ Build and sustain project visibility and momentum over time

+ Coordinate tasks and deliverables across business, content, technical, and other internal teams as well as with external vendors

+ Foster teamwork and alignment between departments to achieve goals

+ Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication of objectives and outcomes

+ Help articulate roles and responsibilities and drive clear decision-making

+ Support business leads in documenting and translating requirements effectively

Communication

+ Deliver consistent updates to stakeholders, team members, and executives

+ Document and manage all communication lines within the project team

+ Write functional specifications, use cases, and workflow charts

+ Facilitate definition, tracking and analysis of metrics to ensure project outcomes are measurable and to enable data-driven decision-making

+ Be an active listener, seeking to understand different stakeholders’ perspectives

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

+ Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

+ Minimum seven years of project management experience in product development and preferably in digital media environments

+ Relevant training and certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) strongly preferred

+ Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects

+ Strong understanding of project management principles & best practices

+ Understanding of agile and lean methodologies

+ Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

+ Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Basic understanding of standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, API, databases)

+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite and collaboration tools such as MS Teams & Slack

+ Familiarity with digital advertising and content subscription revenue businesses preferred

+ Experience in large news/media organizations preferred

+ Experience with data platform and systems integration projects preferred

+ Experience in project management and product software tools preferably in Jira and/or Trello
