JMG is a dropout prevention, career exploration and school-to work transition program that serves students in grades 7-12. JMG also provides curriculum, training, support, and resources to college-level programs that incorporate dual-enrollment academic opportunities to area high school students, including online digital learning. As the JMG Public Relations Specialist you will be charged with growing the number of schools administering the JMG programs and increasing and maintaining JMG enrollment in K-12 schools, tribal and state colleges. As a Public Relations Specialist for Jobs for Montana’s Graduates (JMG) program, you will: * Lead recruitment efforts to expand the JMG program statewide, identifying and engaging new schools and districts, and securing program adoption. * Develop and execute enrollment campaigns, presentations, and outreach strategies to grow school partnerships and increase student participation. * Build strong relationships with education leaders, community stakeholders, and partner organizations to drive recruitment and long-term program success. * Create and distribute targeted promotional materials and success stories to support recruitment goals and enhance JMG’s public profile. * Manage consistent, engaging communications across JMG’s website, social media, and public events, serving as a spokesperson for the program. * Support grant writing, data tracking, and reporting activities related to program growth, enrollment targets, and student outcomes. * Assist with training and technical support to ensure accurate data reporting and alignment with JAG national standards. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time): * Recruitment strategies, outreach techniques, and relationship management best practices, particularly in educational and youth development settings. * Montana’s educational systems, including school district structures, administrative processes, and community dynamics. * Effective communication and public relations practices. * Basic principles of grant writing and program development to support program growth and sustainability. * Data tracking and reporting practices relevant to program enrollment and performance outcomes. Skill in: * Persuasive communication, including public speaking, presentations, and written content creation tailored to diverse audiences. * Relationship-building with school officials, education stakeholders, and partner organizations. * Time management, organization, and planning to balance recruitment activities, communications duties, and reporting requirements. * Use of computers and a variety of software applications, including JAG’s National Data Management System, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and online outreach tools (email marketing, social media platforms). Ability to: * Provide professional, responsive, and engaging customer service to internal and external stakeholders. * Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to meet program goals. * Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with student data and school partnerships. * Adapt messaging and outreach strategies to resonate with varied audiences, including tribal, rural, and urban school districts. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) in the fields of public administration, education, social science, business administration, social service-related programs such as workforce services, job or vocational training or other related fields are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through at least five years’ directly related experience, formal education (including certificates, credentials, or degree-based programs), or a combination of both. Candidates should clearly describe how their experience and education meet the identified KSAs and provide examples in their cover letter that demonstrate their qualifications. *Preferred Qualifications* * Relevant work experience in outreach, recruitment, communications, school or district relations, program coordination, or youth-serving roles. * Industry-recognized credentials or certificates related to communications, public relations, workforce development, or youth services. * Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate success in recruitment, relationship management, or program growth. *HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY:* A complete state application is not required; however, you will need to initiate the application and attach the resume, cover letter or other required documents at time of application to be considered for this position.
