    Job Summary

    HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for upbeatElectricians for our projects in Central Pennsylvania. The position is within our Utilities Construction Region, where we are a leader in the water/wastewater treatment plant construction business in addition to our leading position with large, municipal pipe projects. Travel will be required for this position. The position is year-round work.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Ability to read Electrical Power & Control drawings and take direction from project foreman

    + Familiarity with cutting, bending, and installing the different types of conduits (PVC, EMT, GRC, IMC, PVC- COATED, ETC.) encountered on our projects

    + Familiarity with the installation of the various wire types

    + Familiarity of troubleshooting electrical problems with existing systems

    + Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools

    + Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope

    + Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement

    + Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems

    Education

    + High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    + Valid drivers’ license with the ability to maintain a clean driving history

    + Electrical Apprenticeship or Journeyman

     

    Skills

     

    + Previous experience and knowledge with commercial electrical installation and/or related fields preferred

    Physical Requirements

    + Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines

    + Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

    + Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects

    + Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)

    + Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    + Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain

    + Frequent exposure to loud noise

    + Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles

    + Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals

    + Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, overtime as required

    + Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements

    + Proven track record working safely

    + Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude

    + Some travel might be required
