    Position Summary:

    Senior Division Counsel, Endo Business Unit, is responsible for (i) leading the BU Legal function; (ii) providing accurate and timely legal advice to BU leadership and to the BU’s functional areas on a broad range of matters; and (iii) reinforcing compliance efforts to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and Stryker policies.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Serve as a member of the Endo BULT in your role as the leader of the BU Legal function; serve as a trusted advisor to the BU VP/GM and other senior leaders.

    + Serve as the “point person” for all legal issues related to the Stryker Endoscopy Business Unit, and provide legal advice and counsel to BU members as needed in this highly regulated environment.

    + Perform a variety of more complex or specialized legal activities to protect the organization's reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

    + Provide legal advice within area of expertise to business managers to ensure their activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

    + Make recommendations to senior management on how to respond to legal issues or proposed changes in laws and regulations.

    + Prepare and/or review a a variety of documents related to (e.g., Sales, Marketing, and M&A) to protect the organization's legal and business interests.

    + Collaborate with external legal counsel where needed.

    + Work together with business leaders on strategic planning.

    + Provide leadership, mentorship and training to your direct report, the Communications BU Division Counsel.

    + In close collaboration and partnership with BU Compliance partners, provide timely legal advice and counsel to BU members on compliance issues, to include matters related to interactions with healthcare professionals, AdvaMed, investigations, ethics and code of conduct violations, company policy infractions, US anti-kickback law, and other anti-corruption laws.

    + Provide advice and legal review as an approver of all Endoscopy marketing promotional materials.

    + Collaborate and communicate with Legal COEs and Division counterparts as needed.

    + Partner with Compliance colleagues to provide directed support related to the development of in-house training and education.

    + Collaborate and communicate with internal colleagues and stakeholders and work with outside counsel when required.

    + Assist on other matters as needed.

    Education & Special Trainings:

    + Law degree and admission to practice law.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    + Minimum of 10 years of related experience in a Corporate law department of a law firm or in- house is preferred.

    + Experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment preferred.

    + Experience with compliance matters is valued.

    + Demonstrate strong judgment, professional demeanor and business acumen.

    + Has a general understanding of business financials and reporting.

    + Has the ability to allocate resources effectively and, where relevant, has a general understanding of the budgeting process, expense and headcount management.

    + Possesses strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at levels of organization

    + Provides guidance and direction to others and demonstrates strong potential leadership skills.

    + Maintains confidential information.

    + Demonstrates proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
