Motor Vehicle Admin Tech - $20.61 - $ 25.09 hourly //$42,868.80 - $52,201.03 Annually
Motor Vehicle Tech I- $21.85 - $26.60 hourly //$45,448.00 - $55,333.10 Annually
Motor Vehicle Admin Tech- An entry-level candidate with the ability to be trained on basic clerical duties and capable of utilizing reference material for procedures. This position requires a candidate who is highly motivated, detail and customer service-orientated with the ability to multitask. Daily duties include greeting customers and directing them accordingly to their transaction type, receiving and logging all mail or drops received in a Motor Vehicle office, and various clerical duties in support of the Clerk and Recorder’s office.
Motor Vehicle Tech I - The primary responsibilities of this position are processing titles, vehicle registrations, and other related tasks for the general public in person, over the phone, and via email.
Examples of Duties for Success
Motor Vehicle Admin Tech
+ Greet customers and answers basic questions.
+ Assign customers to appropriate queues using the line management system.
+ Provide forms and informational documents to customers.
+ Manage incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
+ Open, date stamp, sort, and distribute all mail received.
+ Log mail into the DRIVES system and file by date received.
+ Perform VIN inspections.
+ Assist in reviewing title cases before shredding supporting documents.
+ Assign open tasks in DRIVES to the appropriate clerks utilizing the State computer system.
+ Complete the plate destruction process.
+ Assist and educate the general public on available State and County resources.
+ Empty shred bins throughout the office.
+ Assist in performing opening and closing procedures as needed by the leadership team.
+ Assist in maintaining the overall look and organization of the office.
+ Assist with maintaining appropriate office supply levels.
+ Ability to act as a registration clerk when needed.
+ Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Motor Vehicle Tech I
+ Process title applications and issue motor vehicle registrations per statute, rules, and policies while utilizing resources.
+ Understand the calculation of taxes/fees and be able to explain them.
+ Adheres to State/County policies and procedures.
+ Communicates clearly and concisely with both internal and external partners.
+ Performs VIN Inspections in the designated parking area.
+ You may be required to commute and work at any Adams County Clerk and Recorder location.
+ Works occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends.
+ Issue marriage licenses and perform Oath of Honesty.
+ Occasionally assists Elections and Recording departments.
+ Cash Handling.

Motor Vehicle Tech I
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
+ Education and Training:
+ Must be able to read and write at a high school level.
+ Experience:
+ One year of Customer Service experience is required.
+ License or Certificate:
+ Ability to become deputized.
+ Reliable transportation is required to get to different motor vehicle branches as needed.
+ Ability to obtain & maintain Colorado Secretary of State Notary certification.
+ Background Check/Other:
+ Must pass a criminal background check, an MVR check will be ran in case the use of a County vehicle is required.
+ Must pass a criminal background check to take oath.
+ Other:
+ Bilingual in any language highly preferred. Adams County does offer bilingual pay in addition to base salary.
