Job Title: Associate Buyer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Associate Buyer to join our team in Hebron, OH! This role involves securing new business prospects through sourcing and traveling to salvage and recycling yards to purchase catalytic converters and non-ferrous metals. The Associate Buyer will be responsible for loading and transporting purchased units back to the assigned collection hub for sorting and preparation for shipment to the corporate office.
Responsibilities
+ Secure new business prospects through sourcing and traveling to salvage and recycling yards.
+ Purchase catalytic converters and non-ferrous metals.
+ Load and transport purchased units back to the assigned collection hub.
+ Unload, sort, and prepare units for shipment to the corporate office.
+ Provide internal and external customer service related to purchases and customer base.
+ Communicate and coordinate catalytic converter buys with salvage yard managers, owners, core buyers, and brokers.
+ Manage and secure daily inventory purchased, perform onsite audits, and adhere to control processes for inventory accuracy.
+ Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations for compliance in material purchases.
+ Coordinate shipping arrangements and inventory weigh-in reports/logs.
+ Train new buyers and operate forklifts as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in procurement or buying.
+ Customer-facing and customer service skills.
+ Outside sales experience.
+ Clean driving record with a valid driver's license.
+ Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including bckgd check, drug screen, and MVR.
+ Solid communication and negotiation skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ College degree is a plus.
+ Prior experience in metals industry is beneficial.
+ Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
Work Environment
The role involves traveling to various locations, operating a company vehicle, and interacting with diverse stakeholders in salvage and recycling yards. The work environment requires adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.25/hr.
