GRHS is seeking candidates for the position of Dental Hygienist 3 – Community Dental - SAV, working 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. full-time, 40 hours a week.
FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Job Description
This position will provide uninterrupted care to the Adult Mental Health and Forensic inpatient individuals as well as the MRDD outpatient community. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Provide such services as c leaning teeth and examining oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease.
+ Educate clients on oral hygiene
+ Maintain hygiene appointment database
+ Take and develop X-rays
+ Apply fluoride or sealants
+ Maintain dental equipment in terms of sterilization and infection control
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to those candidates who possess some or all of the following skills/experience:
+ Must have Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited college or university
+ At least two years’ experience in dental hygiene field
+ Current State of Georgia licensure as a Dental Hygienist
+ Prior experience with MRDD community, especially severely compromised individuals who require sedation and medical immobilization
+ Ability to act as Dental Assistant if needed

Qualifications - External
Associate's degree in dental hygiene from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia dental hygienist license AND Two years of related experience OR One year at the lower level Dental Hygienist 2 (HCT011) or position equivalent.
Associate degree in dental hygiene from an accredited college or university and current Georgia dental hygienist license and two (2) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year experience at the lower-level Dental Hygienist 2 (HCT011) or position equivalent. .
