STGi is currently seeking a Business Office Manager to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home.
The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families.
JOB SUMMARY: To contribute to the financial success of the facility by timely and accurately completing any analysis, documentation, communication or paperwork required to administer the resident trust fund, properly bill services, or process vendor invoices; optimizing cash flow through processes and procedures consistent with all applicable guidelines and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operate within policy and procedure and state federal and local requirements
2. Coordinate BOM functions with other departments
3. Meet established daily weekly monthly deadlines
4. Compile and maintain accurate financial records
5. Stay informed of all local federal state requirements
6. Maintain accurate census in coordination with other departments
7. Handle all correspondence timely following policy and procedures
8. Verify accurate payer data on all accounts
9. Perform duties to ensure timely conversion to Medicaid
10. Immediately communicate correspondence from fiscal intermediaries and others
11. Communicate and work cooperatively with vendors supplies and contractors
12. Ensure timely deposits
13. Monitor bad debt level, avoid significant increase
14. Establish and arrange payment in absence of Admissions Coordinator
15. Secure information on residents’ financial status
16. Perform other duties as assigned
17. Act as billing liaison between STGi and residents or families
18. Maintain confidentiality of records
19. Complete monthly occupancy and death report timely
20. Serve on committees where applicable
21. Observe safety policies and procedures
22. Observe resident rights
23. Ensure timely/accurate re-certs of Medicaid benefits
24. Manage Patient Trust with Administrator
25. Monthly census dates for reconciliation of payers
26. Audit new admission files for completeness and accuracy
27. Process and submit all coded invoices to AP weekly
28. Perform manager on duty assignments
29. Maintain and manage checkbook on weekly basis
30. Ensure responsible parties understands STGi billing process
31. All private pay (includes applied income & co-insurance) collections at 99%
32. On hold unbilled claims are less than .25% of 3rd party (non-private) revenue and/or not aged greater than 30 days
33. Medicaid Pending A/R balances over 120 days do not exceed 25% of the total Medicaid pending A/R balance at end of month
34. Resident trust fund reconciliations are completed by the 5th business day of each month and State trust fund audits result in zero deficiencies
35. Utilize all position related software packages (example: PCC, SSI, etc.) on a daily basis adhering to all HIPAA privacy standards and Business Office policies and procedures.
Required Skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Two or more year’s prior experience in long term care as a business office manager required.
Required Experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Associate degree in business or similar field or two or more year’s prior experience in long term care as a business office manager required.

• This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 10 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 10 lbs., approximately).
• The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
• Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
