    Who we’re looking for

     

    The Corporate Development & Partnerships team at Toyota is an agile unit dedicated to driving external investment and partnership solutions, significantly contributing to the company's strategic objectives and fostering innovation and growth. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development, the Manager will identify and evaluate potential investment, partnership, and M&A opportunities that support both corporate and business unit goals.

     

    This role encompasses all stages of the deal and partnership process, from target identification to closing and integration, ensuring each opportunity is assessed for strategic fit, financial viability, and alignment with long-term objectives. The Manager will collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Finance, Legal, and select business units, to facilitate due diligence and integration planning.

    What you’ll be doing

    + Collaborate with Toyota business units to identify market gaps, develop robust investment strategies, and pinpoint high-potential targets that align with overarching business objectives.

    + Lead comprehensive due diligence efforts, thoroughly evaluating the financial, operational, and regulatory aspects of potential deals.

    + Develop sophisticated financial models to assess the impact of potential transactions on the company’s financial performance and overall valuation.

    + Facilitate negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions for investments or partnerships, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.

    + Prepare in-depth reports and strategic recommendations for executive leadership regarding potential transactions, highlighting key insights and implications.

    + Support integration planning and ensure seamless alignment among all stakeholders throughout the process.

    + Monitor and report on the performance of completed transactions and partnerships, providing insights for future initiatives.

    + Drive continuous improvement of deal evaluation and execution processes, fostering an environment of efficiency and timely decision-making.

    What you bring

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or management consulting

    + Extensive experience in financial modeling, due diligence, and analysis, demonstrating the ability to drive financial strategy and support business decisions.

    + Proven track record of leading successful transactions, including minority investments, joint ventures, and M&A.

    + Strong leadership qualities with the ability to build and mentor a team of professionals.

    + Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior management.

    + Strong communication skills, capable of clearly and persuasively visualizing and explaining complex financial strategies.

    + Ability to travel up to 25%

    Added bonus if you have

    + MBA

    + Corporate Development experience specifically in automotive or technology sectors

    + Knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting standards, with experience in risk management and compliance.
