    Who we’re looking for

     

    Toyota’s Body Weld Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Body Weld Engineer.

     

    The primary responsibility of this role is to manage technical operations, systems, and projects for a designated process area within the Body Weld Department.

     

    Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Weld department's objective to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost targets are achieved and tracked utilizing FMDS tools (KPI Management).

    What you’ll be doing

    + Lead with a “Safety First” mindset, adhering to Toyota Way and TPS Principles.

    + Support the development and execution of annual plans aligned with company and department hoshin goals.

    + Analyze KPIs and identify/facilitate kaizen activities.

    + Lead technical problem-solving activities related to process equipment and new technology integration.

    + Serve as a technical resource for production, maintenance, and quality to support manufacturing operations and standardization through documentation, training, and audits.

    + Report project status to management, both internal and external.

    + Coordinate and manage supplier/contractor activities, including equipment specifications, job scope, expectations, safety, and schedules.

    + Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments prior to process and engineering changes.

    + Develop technical instructions to ensure quality requirements are met.

    + Interact with outside groups (Stamping PE, Paint PE, Assy PE, Facilities, etc.).

    What you bring

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 1 year of working experience in a Production Engineering role or 3+ years of equivalent professional experience in Production Engineering.

    + Experience with machine specification creation and implementation of major and minor equipment and/or process changes.

    + Experience writing technical specifications and/or procedures.

    + Experience writing Ringi’s, cost reduction activities, and project management.

    + Experience leading and coordinating problem-solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Experience using Power BI Analytical Tool.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

    + Willingness to work weekends and during July/December holiday shutdowns as necessary.

    + This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that’s acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

    Added bonus if you have

    + Experience leading/participating in cross-shop projects or problem-solving teams.

    + Robot and/or Vision System Programming and/or Toyopuc (PLC for machine programming) experience.

    + Experience using CAROTT 3.

    + Experience using SMS-Br and/or WinCMM.

    + Completion of TBP through Panel.

    + Toyota experience and/or Body Weld experience.
