We are looking for an Area Specialist to join our Catalyst team in Attapulgus, GA.

BASF’s Catalysts division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies. The division develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts as well as process catalysts and offers precious metals trading, recycling and related products and services.

The role provides production execution and maintenance support at the Attapulgus facility. This role supports Operations, Maintenance, and the business to meet the production plan, and identify Lean opportunities and support implementation. Additionally, the Area Specialist ensures compliance with air, water, and waste management activities and implement administrative processes to achieve compliance with EHS regulations.

Commitment to workplace safety will be a valued asset. The Area Specialist supports and is a role model for EHS activities and processes. This includes providing technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for EHS incidents.

As a Area Specialist, you create chemistry by...

+ Monitoring workflow within the process area on a continuous basis.

+ Prioritizing maintenance activity and coordinating with maintenance for repairs and PMs.

+ Troubleshooting problems and optimizing performance in safety, environmental, quality, volume, yield, and cost.

+ Coordinating with other areas of the plant to ensure smooth operation of production processes.

+ Providing direction to shift production supervision and managing the process across multiple shifts.

+ Interpreting, communicating, and enforcing site policies and standards.

+ Identifying operator training or performance gaps and initiating corrective action.

+ Developing and implementing training work procedures and documentation.

+ Assisting in operational training and evaluation of operators.

+ Conducting incident investigations, JSAs, RCAs, MOC and AIM reports.

+ Supporting behavioral safety, environmental compliance, and ethical behavior.

+ Encouraging and supporting site safety through personal example and leadership.

If you...

+ Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

+ Possess 5+ years of manufacturing experience (Fluid Cracking Catalyst experience preferred).

+ Hold the ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting process improvement and product development.

+ Possess strong leadership and troubleshooting skills.

+ Be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects.

+ Have strong communication skills and the ability to interface with all departments.

+ Be team-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

+ Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, HCL Notes, Plant Inventory System, and Wonderware.

+ Have experience developing and implementing work instructions.
