    Job Description:

    At TD Securities, the Investment Banking Credit function is an integral part of the full suite of services we offer under Investment Banking. Our Investment Banking professionals provide corporate and institutional clients with capital markets and banking advice and transaction executions worldwide.

You will be exposed to a wide variety of clients, industries, financing structures and products. You will also work in a team environment, building your corporate and leveraged finance banking skills necessary to be successful in the industry.

     

    Directors work on corporate banking transactions and work closely with the Investment Banking team and clients on newly originated structured finance lending transactions. In this role, the Director will be responsible for transactions supporting TD's newly established Corporate Debt Finance ("CDF") business. The Corporate Debt Finance business provides bespoke asset-backed financing solutions to financial sponsors, private equity firms, private credit direct lenders and liquid credit asset managers to finance portfolios of non-investment grade corporate credit assets.

    In this capacity you will:

    + Play a senior role in the strategic development and implementation of all policies & procedures, risk rating methodologies and internal systems & controls for the newly formed CDF business in conjunction with TD's Risk Management and CDF Origination teams.

    + Participate in new client identification and on-going due diligence process on borrowers and collateral.

    + Prepare and present early screening memos on new client transactions and amendment/renewal summaries to senior management.

    + Compile data through due diligence and prepare comprehensive credit reviews that analyze transactions and credit risks.

    + Manage the credit approval process for new transactions and renewals with internal risk management teams and senior management.

    + Construct or oversee building of detailed financial models and sensitivities for CDF lending facilities.

    + Drive legal documentation and negotiation process with internal partners and external legal counsel for new CDF transactions.

    + Monitor assigned borrower and collateral performance and compliance with covenants.

    + Develop and maintain various internal/external databases to monitor borrowers and collateral.

    + Monitor key performance indicators of sector/product specific drivers to make well-informed credit underwriting decisions.

    + Mentor and develop junior staff in transaction underwriting and portfolio management tasks and responsibilities.

    + Identify/recognize cross-sell opportunities and coordinate with other Fund Finance business units/product groups as appropriate.

    Job Requirements:

    + Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Economics

    + 7-10+ years of related credit underwriting/analysis experience covering Corporate Debt Finance/Structured Credit

    + Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial modeling

    + SIE, Series79 and 63.
